EditorPlus Plugin for DokuWiki

EditorPlus enhances the DokuWiki editing experience with essential toolbar tools, intelligent multiline blockquotes, and modern, responsive callout boxes and column layouts.

💡 Motivation & Design Focus

This plugin was developed out of personal interest and a passion for modern design: bringing clean, contemporary aesthetics, refined SVG iconography, smooth spacing, and effortless dark mode styling to DokuWiki callouts and editorial workflows.

Compatibility Notice
EditorPlus is an independent implementation and cannot be used alongside the Wrap or AdHoc Wrap plugins. Because all three plugins use overlapping syntax tags (<wrap> and <WRAP>), please ensure other wrap plugins are deactivated or uninstalled.

• 💬 Intelligent Multiline Blockquotes (> ):
  • Select any number of lines to prepend > to each line.
  • Automatically quotes blank lines between text paragraphs so the entire selection stays as one continuous blockquote.
  • Toggle support: Click again to unquote.
  • Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Q / Cmd + Q.
• 🖍️ Text Highlighter (<wrap hi>):
  • One-click inline marker to highlight critical phrases in vibrant yellow.
• 📦 Modern Callout & Notice Boxes:
  • Toolbar picker dropdown with 9 distinct box types:
    • Info Box (Blue)
    • Tip Box (Gold/Yellow)
    • Important Box (Orange)
    • Alert Box (Red)
    • Help Box (Indigo/Purple)
    • Download Box (Green)
    • ToDo Box (Cyan)
    • Block Box (Neutral gray)
    • Outlined Box (Subtle border)
• 📐 Responsive Widths & Alignment:
  • Set custom widths using percentages or pixels (e.g., 40%, 50%, 300px, 15em).
  • Align or float boxes with left, right, or center.
  • Intelligently ignores alignment if no width is specified, keeping default 100% full-width blocks.
  • Mobile-responsive: Automatically resets floated boxes to 100% width on screens under 768px.
• 🧹 Self-closing Float Clear:
  • <WRAP clear /> stops preceding floats cleanly without requiring empty closing tags.
• 🏛️ Dedicated Columns Toolbar Button & Layouts:
  • Direct toolbar button with dropdown presets for 2, 3, and 4 flex columns (<WRAP group>), single column (<WRAP col>), and 2/3 multi-column text flow.
  • Can be combined with box styles: <WRAP col info>, <WRAP col tip>, etc.
  • Multi-column newspaper text flow with <WRAP col2>, <WRAP col3>, <WRAP col4>.
  • Stacks automatically into a clean single column on mobile devices.
• 🔲 Block vs. Inline Distinction:
  • Uppercase <WRAP ...> creates a block-level container (<div>) with accent border and icon.
  • Lowercase <wrap ...> creates an inline element (<span>) directly within flowing text.
• 🌓 Full Dark Mode Support:
  • Pre-configured color schemes for light and dark themes.
• 🌐 Internationalization:
  • English and German translations included out of the box.
• 🎯 Compatibility:
  • Fully tested and compatible with DokuWiki "Mort" (2026-07-14).
  • Compatible with previous DokuWiki releases (including "Librarian" and "Kaos").
  • Requires PHP 7.4+ (compatible up to PHP 8.4+).

You can add an <wrap info>Inline Badge</wrap> or a <wrap hi>highlighted section</wrap> directly in paragraphs.

Multiline Blockquotes

Select multiple lines in the editor and press Ctrl + Q (or click the quote button):

> First paragraph of the quote.
>
> Second paragraph after an empty line remains in the same quote!

Installation

Via Extension Manager (Recommended)

1. In DokuWiki, go to Admin → Extension Manager.
2. Under "Search and Install", enter editorplus or install via URL: https://git.zn80.net/cblte/dokuwiki-plugin-editorplus/archive/main.zip
3. Click Install.

Manual Installation

1. Download or clone this repository:

   git clone https://git.zn80.net/cblte/dokuwiki-plugin-editorplus.git lib/plugins/editorplus
   

2. Ensure the directory is named editorplus inside lib/plugins/.
